I don't have Biscuit Mix. What Should I do?
You can make Sausage and Cheese Balls WITHOUT Biscuit Mix. You can simply use self-raising flour. Or just combine 2 cups all purpose flour with 1 tablespoon baking powder, 1/3 cup shortening or 1/3 cup melted unsalted butter and 1 teaspoon salt.
Variations
You can tweak the recipe as per your taste palate.
- Spicy - add chili pepper flakes while making the mixture to imbue heat into the dish. You can add Cajun Seasoning if you like it spicy.
- Ground Aromatics - Instead of chopped yellow onions and finely minced garlic you can simply use onion powder and garlic powder.
- Green Onions - Instead of chives you can use chopped green onions.
- Herbs - You can add in Italian Seasoning or fresh chopped parsley or cilantro in the mixture if you want a nice herby taste.
- Vegan - Instead of ground italian sausages you can use chickpeas or tofu to make this vegan.
