The secret to a juicy, moist grilled chicken breast recipe is that I use homemade sauces and dips.

Sticky bbq chicken breast recipe
The trick to making the best bbq chicken breast is to make a sticky barbecue sauce for chicken.
I use a traditional method to make my sticky bbq sauce. Basically, its a combination of my favorite spices and sauces.
Since I'm mostly on a diet, I like to replace sugary ketchup with my homemade low-carb keto ketchup, which you should definitely be making.
Besides that, I always use my homemade bbq sauce to make this grilled bbq chicken breast recipe.
Stovetop BBQ Chicken Recipe
BBQ Chicken in Instant Pot is one of my favorite recipes. Making it in the stovetop on a grill pan or cast-iron skillet saves you from standing in the heat and using the gas grill.

It's a quick, easy, and effortless process with the same results. You get smoky, charred chicken breasts with juicy homemade bbq sauce marinade dripping over them.

How to Make BBQ Chicken Breasts
Step 1: In a bowl, combine the ingredients for BBQ Marinade. I combine Worcestershire Sauce, Keto Ketchup, BBQ Sauce, and Apple Cider Vinegar.

Step 2: In a separate bowl, combine cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and crushed black pepper.

Step 3: Combine the seasoning mix and bbq marinade.
Step 4: Brush the BBQ Marinade on both sides of the chicken.

Step 5: Add extra virgin olive oil to a cast-iron skillet or grill pan. As the oil shimmers, place the chicken breasts' skin side down.
Step 6: Cook both sides for 4-5 minutes. Baste the chicken again so that the chicken doesn't turn dry.

Step 7: Garnish with fresh chopped cilantro and serve with steamed veggies.

How long to cook chicken breast on BBQ grill?
It depends on the thickness of your chicken breast. Ideally, if your chicken breast is about 1/2 inch to 1 inch thick, it takes 4-5 minutes per side. Make sure you check out my favorite grilled chicken recipes like Balsamic Grilled Chicken or Greek Grilled Chicken
Is it better to grill or fry chicken breast?
Grilling happens in less oil and gives a smoky charred flavor to your chicken breasts keeping them juicy, and moist all the while.
Frying usually incorporates lots of oil. You can see that in recipes like Lemon Chicken Francese
How do you keep chicken breast moist?
The trick to a juicy and moist chicken breast is a basting the chicken breasts while grilling it.
Whether you prefer gas grill or stovetop, you cannot skip this process.
Basting ensures the juices seep into the chicken breasts while the chicken is getting cooked.
It's the only age-old trick that keeps the chicken breast moist and juicy.
How do you tenderize chicken breast?
Tenderizing chicken breast is one of the MOST important thing to do before getting them grilled.
Use a meat mallet to pound the chicken breast evenly from all sides until its about 1/2 inch to 1-inch thick from all sides.
Why tenderizing chicken breast is so important?
Tenderizing chicken breasts ensure even cooking. You don't want your chicken breasts to be raw on one side and cooked on the other. You want your chicken breast to be fully cooked from all sides. And therefore when you tenderize the meat, the heat is distributed evenly. Making the chicken breast cook evenly from all sides.
How to prevent chicken breasts from being chewy?
Overcooking chicken breasts is the most common mistake which we all make while cooking chicken breasts.
You don't want to keep the chicken breasts on the pan on a low heat for a very long time.
Make sure you flip at 5-6 minute mark on medium heat and cook the other side as well for another 5-6 minute.
If you are unsure about how long to cook your chicken breast, use a meat thermometer.
Insert it in the thickest part of the chicken and note the temperature.
It should be between 160 to 165 degrees F.
