How to make Baked Ham with Honey and Pineapple?
The name of the recipe might be a mouthful, but the process of making this amazing dish is not long at all!
Not only will I tell you how to make Baked Ham with Honey and Pineapple but I will also tell you everything you need to know about making it look absolutely fabulous!
And guess what, you can get all of this done in just under a span of one hour!
All you need to do is follow the steps given down below accurately to get the best Baked Ham with Honey and Pineapple!
STEP 1: PAT DRY HAM
The first step is to pat your ham dry. You don’t need to wash it, just take a kitchen towel and pat gently with it. You can also trim off any excess fat from your ham.
Also, you don’t need to season the ham as it already comes salted.
Most of the Ham we find in United States are smoked or cured and labeled as ready to eat. But still we love to add our own version of marinade to it and then eat it because thats what a fine holiday dinner is all about, right!
STEP 2: BAKE THE HAM
Time to get started on baking the ham! But first, you need to preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Meanwhile, position your Ham on the roasting pan with its face being downwards. You can also sprinkle it with brown sugar if you want the outer skin to be nicely caramelised.
To finish preparing your Ham for baking cover it with a foil securely so that it does not dry out in the oven.
Then slide the roasting pan inside the oven and let the ham bake for about 12 minutes per pound of Meat.
STEP 3: MAKE THE GLAZE
While your Ham is baking, let’s get started on the glaze. Take a skillet and place it on medium high heat.
Then combine all the fruit juices, seasonings, spices, honey, and rum in it. Let the mixture come to a quick boil and then let it simmer for a few minutes. Make sure you stir it occasionally.
Your ham must be fully baked by now, so take it out of the oven. Use a kitchen brush to apply the syrupy and sweet glaze over the ham. Now time to decorate it! Make sure you do it immediately as it will be easier that way for the pineapple rings to stick to the ham.
STEP 4: TOP WITH PINEAPPLES
For decorating the Ham you will need Pineapple Rings, Maraschino Cherries, and wooden toothpicks. Stick the Pineapple rings all around the ham in a beautiful decorative manner. You should use two toothpicks per ring. Then, stick a maraschino cherry inside each ring of the Pineapple with the help of a toothpick. Do this process until you have the surface of Ham covered up.
Now stick your prettied up Ham back into the oven and bake it for additional twenty minutes.
Make sure you pull out the Ham at halfway point for basting it. Once this is done just pull out your beautiful and perfectly caramelised Ham out of the oven and let it rest on the kitchen countertop for around 15-30 minutes.
Your Baked Ham with Honey and Pineapple is now ready!
