So, here's for you - Your favorite Cinnamon Rolls in a brand new version - Orange Cardamom Rolls - Without Yeast - Without Eggs.
Orange Cardamom Rolls (Without Yeast & Eggs)
Orange is my favorite fruit. I can have Oranges for a meal and I won't complain. I love the citrusy and juicy fragrance of Oranges. I had so many Oranges at home, so I thought of baking a dessert using some fresh Oranges. In my home, apart from me, my younger one loves Oranges. My husband is not a fan of it.
But I had to use up my Oranges in some way which is not just juice! So, I came up with this idea. I thought of making these for desserts and everyone loved it. The aroma 🙂
Oh my my! Every time while I was baking it, my kids rushed into the kitchen and smelled it! It's so amazing. It's has a strong Cardamom aroma and there is that slight hint of fresh Oranges which seems to swim out of nowhere and that's just sooo good 🙂
Anyways so from there came the idea of baking some swirly goodness - Cinnamon Rolls - Oh sorry! Orange Cardamon Rolls.
Orange and Cardamom have a fantastic combination. Cardamom is one of my favorite go-to Indian spices whenever I am baking any dessert. It has a strong flavor which cuts out the excessive sweetness.
However, Today, I have used it to balance both the tangy and sweet flavors. Cardamom has a strong spicy flavor and fragrance which when combines with the zesty and refreshing flavors of Oranges makes for a combination that is exotic.

Let's make Orange Cardamom Rolls (Without Eggs & Yeast)
First, we'll make the filling for our Orange Cardamom Rolls. To make out filling, we'll need some brown sugar. After all, you need that gorgeous brown swirls right! Mr. Brown Sugar, it is 🙂
Along with Brown Sugar, we'll add some vegetable oil and some green Cardamom Pods. We split open the Cardamom Pods, use a mortar pestle to grind it coarsely and then begin working with it. By this time your kitchen will be so aromatic that you'll get all the more excited to make this dessert. Quickly grab a spoon, mix all the Cardamom goodness with brown sugar and oil. Once the filling is ready, let us keep it aside for some time.
In another medium-sized bowl, we'll use our big old daddy of baking - All-purpose flour. Into that, we'll add some powdered sugar and some cold butter cubes. Cut out chunks of butter (salted/unsalted - both works fine) and use your hands to mix them well. Take some butter in your hand and rub it with the flour. The heat from your hands will melt the butter. Mix it well, until you get a crumbly consistency.
Now to it add some Yogurt, White Vinegar, Orange Juice, Baking Powder, Baking Soda, and Orange Extract to the flour mix. Use a spoon to mix everything well and make a soft dough.
Now, the real fun begins. Dust some flour on your board and start rolling the dough. Roll out your dough nicely and carefully.
Finally, just add the filling into your dough. Keep in mind that the filling should be closer to the edge, only then will the swirls will be clear.
Start rolling from the longer side and roll your dough carefully. Dust the board if you wish because that'll help you roll out your dough easily. Take your Cardamom Rolls and place them in the baking tray.
Bake your Orange Cardamom Rolls at 430 F or 220 C for 23 minutes. Allow them to cool down before you glaze it with some Cream Cheese Frosting!
So, that's it. Can you believe you just made a unique dessert recipe and that too so quickly 🙂
I'm sure you'll love this recipe. It's so flavorsome and filled with the goodness of Oranges and Cardamoms.
