Spicy, Garlic-ky, crunchy, with a balanced sweet flavor make this Chinese broccoli stir fry recipe a popular choice all around the world.
Broccoli Tofu Stir Fry is a recipe that I don't make quite often. In fact, this was my first time. But, now I cure myself for not making it often. It was so tasty that my family (who apparently hates broccoli) fell in love with it. Seriously, the flavors were to die for. It was thick, it was saucy, the tofus were crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside. The broccolis were properly cooked. And, everything marinated with the spicy Honey Garlic Sauce tasted absolutely lip-smacking!

The cooking starts with removing the excess moisture from the tofu. We do this to ensure that it gets fried appropriately. To take out the moisture, you need to place your tofu wrapped in a paper towel, between two plates and place a heavy can over the top plate. Leave for 15 minutes and your tofu will be ready for cooking.
Next, we take cornstarch and coat our tofus. I really like this step. But, I am always concerned about not over-frying my tofu. Hence, I keep the flame at low and for this recipe, we need just lightly golden brown tofus. As soon as you see your tofus getting a slight crust from both sides, turn off the heat. If you feel that they need more of that golden-brown crust, you can let them stay in the hot oil for some time. Or else take them out on a separate plate. I really enjoy shallow fried tofu. The beautiful golden crust makes the tofu so much crunchier.
Finally, we prepare the gorgeous sauce for the gravy - I love including sriracha in my sauce as it infuses a spicy as well a zesty flavor in my dish - which takes just 5 minutes.

And, we pour the sauce over stir-fried broccoli, add the tofus and season it with toasted sesame seeds, salt, black pepper, chili flakes, and basil.
