Easter Chocolate Nest Cupcakes are cute, festive and adorable little Easter cupcakes. They are a super easy and simple Vanilla Cupcakes with a Chocolate frosting on top and decorated with Easter Cadbury Eggs on top.
Easter is one of the most fun holidays when it comes to the food. Especially Easter desserts are really cute and super adorable at the same time. I just love Easter because its one of those holidays where we can make some of the cutest desserts.
Aside from the Traditional Easter cakes or Italian Easter Bread or the Hot Cross Buns, Easter is the best time to make some desserts using delicious Cadbury Chocolate Eggs.
Cadbury Chocolate Eggs are just perfect to make Easter Nest Treats which kids love for sure but even adults won't be able to get enough of this. From Rice Krispie Easter Nest treats to Chow mein noodles to make Nest treats to Easter Cupcakes all of them are so cute and so much fun.
Ingredients needed to make Easter Nest Cupcakes
- Dry ingredients:
- 1. 1 cup All Purpose Flour
- 2. 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
- Wet Ingredients:
- 1. 1 cup Milk
- 2. 1 stick Unsalted Butter (melted)
- 3. 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 4. 1 cup Granulated Sugar
- 5. 1 Egg Chocolate Frosting
- 1. 1 cup Heavy Whipping Cream
- 2. 1/2 CUP Dark Chocolate (melted)
- Green Frosting
- 1 drop Green Gel food color
- Cadbury Easter Eggs
How to make Easter Egg Nest Cupcakes
1. Add the dry ingredients in a bowl and whisk until combined
2. Add the wet ingredients and beat until combined
3. Transfer to a lined muffin tin
4. Bake @350F or 180C for 15-20 min
5. Make Chocolate ganache frosting and green frosting
6. Add the green frosting around the edges of cupcake to make "grass"
7. Add the chocolate frosting in the center and fill in with Cadbury Eggs.
Flavour Variations:
I have made these Vanilla Cupcakes, however feel free to add in flavors of your choice. You can add some cocoa powder to make Chocolate Cupcakes, also you can add some Lemon Juice & Lemon Zest to make Lemon Cupcakes.
Chocolate Ganache Frosting
When it comes to making these Easter Nest using frosting you can use a simple Chocolate Ganache Frosting or even a Chocolate Buttercream frosting.
The green grass is a simple whipped cream frosting with some green food color added to it. However you can use a buttercream frosting with green food color as well.
How long do these Easter Nest Cupcakes stay fresh?
You can store these Easter Nest Cupcakes in an airtight container in the refrigerator or in a cool place for 2-3 days.
You can alternatively freeze these cupcakes. However its best to not store frosted cupcakes.
However if you're planning to make these Easter Nest Cupcakes ahead of time, just wrap the baked and cooled cupcakes individually using a plastic wrap. Remember to thaw the cupcakes overnight in the refrigerator before you reuse them.

Easter Chocolate Nest Cupcakes
INGREDIENTS
Dry Ingredients
- 1⅔ cup All purpose Flour
- ½ teaspoon Baking Powder
Wet Ingredients
- 1 cup Milk
- 1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
- 2 large Eggs
- 1 stick Melted Butter unsalted
- 1 cup Granulated Sugar
Frosting
- 1½ cup Heavy Whipping Cream
- 1 cup Dark Chocolate melted
- 1 drop Green Gel Food Color
- Mini Eggs
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat the oven to 350F or 180C and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners. Whisk the flour and baking powder together until combined through.
- Pour in all the wet ingredients and combine to make the cupcake batter.
- Transfer the batter to the lined muffin tin. Bake @350F or 180C for 15-20 min.
- Beat 1 cup of Heavy Whipping Cream & Melted Dark Chocolate together to make Chocolate Ganache frosting. Take it in a piping bag with star tip to make the Chocolate nest.
- Add a drop of green food color to the remaining Heavy Whipping Cream and beat to make green "grass" frosting. Take it up in a piping bag with Wilton 233 nozzle to make grass.
- Frost the cupcakes. Start by piping the green frosting around the edges. Add a swirl or two of the chocolate frosting in the center. Fill in with mini eggs and enjoy!
