DIY Easter & Spring Crafts to Make with Your Kids

Feb 25, 2025 No Comments

Spring is my absolute favorite time of year to get creative with the kids. After months of chilly weather, there’s something so refreshing about seeing the world bloom back to life. The bright colors in nature, the chirping birds, and the excitement of Easter make it the perfect season for crafting together with kids and seniors alike.

Every year, I pull out my stash of craft supplies—construction paper, glue, cotton balls, and, of course, all the glitter I can find—and we spend an afternoon making adorable spring and Easter-themed artwork.

Some of these projects have become cherished traditions in our home, from fingerprint bunny cards to colorful egg decorations that we hang proudly on the fridge. And the best part?

Watching little hands work on something special, seeing their creativity shine, and knowing that these crafts is always a sweet memories for years to come.

To make this adorable chicken craft, start by collecting empty tin cans and cleaning them thoroughly. Next, paint the cans in alternating colors of black and white. Once dry, use the opposite color (white on black and black on white) to create small polka dots all over the surface.

For the facial features, cut out large, round eyes from white paper and use a black marker to draw pupils. Cut small beaks from orange craft foam or paper and attach them just below the eyes.

For the wattle (the red part below the beak) and the comb (the red crown on top), cut shapes from red craft foam or cardstock. Glue all the facial features onto the cans using strong craft glue or a hot glue gun. Once all the chickens are assembled, you can stack them creatively to form a fun display, as shown in the image.
