How to make Valentine's Day Sugar Cookie Bars
First, Whisk the dry ingredients - Flour, Baking Powder, and Salt in a bowl and keep aside.
Second - Mix the wet ingredients. Now, add the milk, vanilla extract, melted unsalted butter, and sugar. We will use both Light Brown Sugar and Granulated Sugar for this recipe. Granulated sugar is a must when it comes to sugar cookie bars. Brown Sugar is something of a secret ingredient that I always use. It makes my sugar cookie bars extra moist...
Beat all of this using a spatula. You do not have to use a handheld mixer or a stand mixer for this step. Beat just until combined.
Third - Finally, Pour this Sugar Cookie Bar into a parchment paper-lined baking dish. Don't forget the Parchment paper and be in a rush to pour the batter into the baking dish. Lining the baking dish with parchment paper will make it so easy to get these bars out.
Fourth - Top the Sugar cookie bars with candy hearts. You can use Red and Pink colored M&Ms as well. Bake Valentine's Day Sugar Cookie Bars for 30 minutes at 350°F or 180°C. After these get baked, allow them to cool down for 1 hour. I know this is the only testing part about this recipe. But please be patient. You need to wait it out so that the bars cut out in perfect squares.
Fifth - After it has cooled down completely, take it out and cut it into pieces. Wipe the knife after each cut so that you get perfect squares. Serve!
