Tomato Basil Penne Pasta

Tomato Basil Penne Pasta - Creamy, cheesy, pasta recipe with cooked with tomatoes and garlic over some olive oil and finished off with some fresh basil leaves and some shredded Parmesan cheese. Penne Pasta is one of my many favorite kinds of Pasta. Have you tried my ever-popular Creamy White Sauce Penne and Rigatoni Bolognese yet? Please try those as well. They taste really good 🙂

Making Pasta is the easiest thing in the world. And, we all know how tasty it is. Also, read - Tomato Basil fusilli Pasta recipe.

Tomato Basil Penne Pasta

Parmesan cheese has its very own distinctive cheesiness which is so different from any other cheese and yet so tasty. I think I would never make my Pasta without some authentic Parmesan Cheese.

Another important component of this recipe is the fabulously mild combination of sour tomatoes, sweet basil, and exciting garlic!

These three ingredients are the three important pillars of this Tomato Basil Penne Pasta Recipe. What I really like about them is how all three infuses well in any Italian recipe.

I usually prefer using charred tomatoes or fire-roasted tomatoes or sometimes tomato concassé to make any Italian recipe. However, today I am going to be using normal tomatoes. So, no charring, no roasting. Just usual tomatoes.

Let’s talk a bit about taste

When we make tomato basil penne pasta the most distinctive taste that comes to your mouth the moment you taste it is a soury tomatoey flavor-packed by some cheesy parmesan and you get that garlicky bite. Besides that, the penne in itself is quite creamy. So, the major taste that this recipe has is – creaminess, cheesiness, and of course some garlic-ness. (Don’t worry, you are gonna learn lots of new terms which I make on my own)

How to Make Tomato Basil Penne Pasta

First, we take our penne and get it al-dante. While that is happening, we make the base for our pasta. We use some olive oil and brown our garlic cloves until they are fragrant and flavorful. Once you start getting that typical garlicky smell, its time to add in your chopped tomatoes.

This is the time when we got to be a bit patient. You’ll have to cook the tomatoes on a low flame until its soft, mushy and sort of done. So, grab your spatula and keep stirring until its done.

When your tomatoes are done we will add our cooked penne pasta into it. Just coat it nicely. Lastly, finish off by tearing in some sweet fresh basil leaves and some shredded parmesan cheese.
