Making the Best Shrimp Tacos

Step 1: Make a Marinade
Just make a quick marinade so that the flavors seep into shrimp. In a bowl combine Olive Oil, Salt, Pepper, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Ground Cumin, and Smoked Paprika in a bowl. Stir well with a spoon until combined.
Step 2: Coat Shrimps and place in Air Fryer
Coat Shrimps with the marinade. Allow the marinade to seep into shrimps. Place your shrimps in your air fryer keeping at least 1/2 inch gap between each shrimp. You need to leave space for airflow.
Step 3: Cook in Air Fryer
Cook your Shrimps in Air Fryer at 400°F or 200°C for 5-minutes or until no longer pink.
Step 4: Assemble in Tortillas with Salsa
Assemble Shrimps in tortillas (flour/corn) with pico de gallo or salsa or shredded cabbage.
Step 5: Air Fry Tacos
Finally, air fry tacos for one last time at 400°F OR 200°C for just 1-minute.
Step 6: Serve
And, serve right away with some guacamole or sliced avocados.
How will I know that my Shrimp is cooked?
Shrimps don't need much time to cook. In fact, if you cook shrimp too long, it will become "rubbery" and you certainly do not want that. But cooking shrimp until they are fully cooked is quite tricky.
Many people suggest that a fully cooked shrimp should be "C" shaped and an overcooked shrimp will turn into an "O" shape. But almost everyone has noticed that this is just not the correct indicator to check the doneness of your shrimps. They will curl into an "O" shape once they are cooked.
Some people even say that the internal temperature of shrimps should be 120°F. But USDA says that between 40-140 is a "temperature danger zone" and that is where bacteria grow fastest.
So, the best way to check if your shrimps are done is to see that they turn opaque white with a few bright red and pink accents. This is your clue to see if your Shrimp is thoroughly cooked.
Key Tips to Make the Best Shrimp Taco

These quick tips will help you make the best shrimp taco every single time.
- Frozen Shrimps: You can always use frozen shrimps. In fact, In this recipe, I have used frozen shrimps. But make sure you thaw them on the countertop for at least an hour before marinating them.
- Do not overcrowd: I have said this thing again and again for almost all air fryer recipes. Do not crowd your air fryer basket. You need to leave some space for the hot air to flow around the basket.
- Shrimp Tails - I have kept tails for a few (just for photography purposes). You can remove the tails if you want.
- Fliping - There is no need to flip your shrimps. They should be done in about 5-minutes. If you want you can flip over and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes.
Make-Ahead Instructions

You can make your air fryer shrimps and store them in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Of course, don't forget to keep it in an air-tight container. When you want to serve, just arrange them in a tortilla and cook in the air fryer for 2-3 minutes at 350°F.
