Chocolate Chess Pie is a southern favorite pie recipe. This recipe is the vegan version of this classic Chocolate Chess Pie. It's equally delicious, moist, and chocolaty.

INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat the oven to 350F or 180C. In a large bowl, whisk together Granulated Sugar, Cocoa Powder, and Cornstarch until they combine.
Now add the Melted Butter, Almond Milk, Pure Vanilla Extract, and Salt. Mix everything well using a rubber or wooden spatula. Stir well until combined.
Pour this Pie filling into the prepared unbaked Pie crust and bake for 45 min or until you see a crust forming across the top of the pie. The center will be a little jiggly when you shake it.
Cool it down completely for 1-2 hours before you slice it and serve. You can serve with Vegan Whipped Cream if you want. Or just dust some Cocoa Powder on top and serve!
If the Pie is too runny even after it has cooled down, pop it in the freezer for a few hours and it'll come out perfect.
To make a Non-Vegan Version, replace Vegan butter with normal unsalted butter and Almond Milk with whole milk or evaporated milk. The ratio will be the same. Also, top with Cool whip.
TO MAKE VEGAN WHIPPED CREAM:You will need 1/2 cup Aquafaba (liquid from 1 can of chickpeas), 1/8 Teaspoon Cream of Tartar, 3/4 Cup Powdered Sugar, 1 Teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract.In a pan whip Aquafaba with Cream of tartar until light and foamy for about 3-4 minutes. Add powdered sugar (little at a time) and Vanilla. Beat until you see stiff peaks. Use your favorite nozzle. Snip the edge of a piping bag. Pour the frosting into the bag with a nozzle. Make a beautiful frosting on your vegan chocolate chess pie.
