Sugar-Free Chocolate Pudding Recipe
Making a sugar-free chocolate pudding is very easy. In this recipe, I never felt the need to use any kind of sugar.
I used plant based vanilla protein to thicken my Vegan Chocolate Pudding.
Although, plant based protein need some extra sweetners, because they are not sweet at all.
But, I guess coconut milk was there for my rescue.
It saved me from adding any extra sweeteners to my pudding.
Coconut milk Chocolate Pudding
I was initially going to use oat milk to make my chocolate pudding. But, then, I thought, oat is going to make the pudding really dry and it would taste dull.
So, to bring alive the flavors of dark chocolate, I went with coconut milk.
And, by the way, I didn't use any store-bought coconut milk. I like to make my own coconut milk at home.
From my experience, I know coconut and chocolate is a wonderful combination.

Turning into healthy desserts and more importantly healthy vegan desserts was a game changer for me.
I could see the changes in my body fat % and also the way I feel about myself.
How can I satisfy my sweet tooth without sugar?
Well, luckily enough, I have found so many ways to replace sugar. You can use stevia or xylitol Erthyrol or Monk Fruit Sweetener, or items with natural sugar such as dates or peanut butter or pure maple syrup.

Ingredients for Dairy Free Chocolate Pudding
- coconut milk - I used homemade coconut milk. I suggest you use the homemade coconut milk. It just takes 5-minutes to make it.
- Cacao powder - I like using unsweetened Organic, Gluten-Free Cacao Powder.
- cornstarch - any brand that you regularly use
- 1 scoop plant-based protein I used Orgain Organic Vegan Protein Powder
- 6 oz dark chocolate bar roughly chopped ( I used Hu Chocolate Bars)
- 2 tbsp coconut oil to melt dark chocolate
How to Make Vegan & Paleo Chocolate Pudding
- Step 1: Melt dark chocolate
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine 60 or 70 % dark chocolate bar (roughly chopped) with coconut oil. Microwave at 30-second increment until smooth and lump-free.
- Step 2: Make Pudding Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, combine coconut milk, cacao powder, and cornstarch.
In a saucepan over medium-low heat, combine coconut milk, vanilla protein powder, and melted dark chocolate.
Strain the cornstarch mixture into the saucepan and whisk for about 2-minutes or until thick.
- Step 3: Allow the pudding to cool down
Allow the pudding to cool down at room temperature. Then, transfer them to a Glass Dessert Bowl.
- Step 4: Refrigerate
Refrigerate the Chocolate Pudding until set.
Top with coconut cream or vegan cream cheese chopped hazelnuts or macadamia nuts, and a mint leaf. To make it more amazing, you can sieve some sugar-free sweeteners like Xylitol or Monk Fruit Sweetener and Cacao Powder over the pudding.
Can you make chocolate pudding with coconut milk?
Yes. I just made vegan chocolate pudding with coconut milk, and it turned out so good. I've been thinking of using coconut milk for more of my puddings and desserts.
The richness, nuttiness and that coconuty flavor which coconut milk adds to the dish is beyond the world.
Coconut Milk when combined with chocolate adds a fantastic flavor to the dessert.
The bitterness of chocolate combines with the nuttiness and mild sweetness of coconut, leaving you with a balanced taste on your palate 😋
