Spicy Shredded Salsa Chicken in Instant Pot
Shredded Salsa Chicken makes for the easiest and the best Mexican Shredded Chicken recipe. Have you tried my Chicken Carnitas or Salsa Chicken Meatballs?
I have used chicken breasts for this recipe which I have cooked in the Instant Pot with some homemade Tomato Salsa.
After that, I have shredded the Chicken and served these inside crispy Corn Tortillas as Tacos.
You can serve this in Quesadillas or Burritos as well.

You can serve Salsa Chicken with Rice. Salsa Chicken tastes especially great with rice. Rice balances out the spicy flavors of the Chicken and makes this a comforting wholesome meal.
Salsa Chicken is clearly a winner dinner recipe. I mean it's such a simple dump-and-forget dinner recipe and when you come back to it, you have juicy and tender chicken cooked to perfection in spicy salsa!

Slow Cooker Salsa Chicken makes for the best dinner recipe ever.
You can have the Chicken cook with the Salsa in the Slow Cooker all day long and then right before serving, have everyone make their own Tacos!
I find Salsa Chicken in Slow Cooker is especially easy and fun. You can just dump frozen Chicken along with Salsa and allow it to cook all day long.
Then right before serving, shred the chicken, toss to combine, and serve inside Tacos.
How to make Salsa Chicken in Instant Pot
Below is a brief description of the Shredded Salsa Chicken recipe. Find the full recipe card below. Also, watch the video for a quick visual.

STEP 1: Season the Chicken
- Pound the Chicken Breasts using a meat tenderizer
- Season it with Taco Seasoning
- Replace Taco Seasoning with - Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Oregano, Red Pepper Flakes, Paprika, Ground Cumin, Salt & Pepper
STEP 2: Cook the Chicken
- Pour some of the Salsa into the Instant Pot

- Place the Chicken Breasts

- Pour the remaining Salsa over them
- Cover with the lid

- Pressure cook on high for 10 minutes
- Allow the pressure to release naturally.

STEP 3: Shred the Chicken
- Shred the chicken breasts using two forks
STEP 4: Garnish and Serve
- Garnish with chopped Cilantro and serve inside Warm Tacos or Burritos

- Use any Salsa you love - This Salsa Chicken recipe is easily customizable with any salsa you have at home. Just pour it right into the pot and cook the Chicken with it
- Restaurant Style Salsa - I have used Restaurant Style Salsa here for this recipe. You can use any Salsa you love for this recipe.
- Seasonings of your choice - I have used Taco Seasoning and Salt & Pepper to season the Chicken. You can use any seasoning you love or have at home. You want to make it spicier, add some more Paprika or Jalapenos.
- Tenderise the Chicken - I highly recommend tenderizing the Chicken breasts with a meat tenderizer. This will give you even-sized Chicken breasts pieces which will cook quickly and at the same time.

Instant Pot Salsa Chicken
INGREDIENTS
- 1 lbs Chicken Breasts boneless, skinless
- 2 tablespoon Taco Seasoning
- 1 can Salsa
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Pepper
- chopped Cilantro for garnish
INSTRUCTIONS
- Pound the Chicken Breast and tenderize them. Season the Chicken Breasts with Taco Seasoning.
- Pour Salsa in the Instant Pot. Now place the Chicken over it. Pour the remaining Salsa. Season with some Salt and Pepper. Toss to combine everything.
- Pressure cook on high pressure for 10 minutes. Allow the pressure to release naturally.
- Shred the Chicken using two forks. Toss to combine with the juices in the Instant Pot.
- Serve inside Tacos and enjoy!
