- Green Beans - I like to use fresh Green Beans which have been trimmed and rinsed
- Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup - I love to use this because it makes the Green Bean Casserole extra creamy and delicious
- Sour Cream - My Grandma taught me this. Just a bit of Sour Cream makes this Green Bean Casserole taste so good
- Dried Oregano - helps in building flavors
- Red Pepper Flakes - just a hint of spice
- Garlic Powder - for flavors
- Salt & Pepper - for seasoning
- Crispy Fried Onions - the best ingredient in this casserole
- Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese - extra cheesy flavors

STEP 1: COMBINE MUSHROOM SOUP
- Combine Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup with Sour Cream, Garlic powder, Dried Oregano, Red Pepper Flakes, Salt and Pepper
STEP 2: TOP WITH GREEN BEANS & FRIED ONIONS
- Top with rinsed and trimmed Green Beans and half of the Fried Onions.
- Add some shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese on top
STEP 3: BAKE
- Bake for 10-15 minutes or until the top gets golden brown and the cheese gets bubbly on top
STEP 4: GARNISH AND SERVE
- Garnish with leftover Crispy Fried Onions and serve.

🤔 Can I make this in the Slow Cooker?
Yes of course! You can make this Green Bean Casserole in the Slow Cooker.
- All you need to do is dump all the ingredients in the same order and cover cook on Low for about 4 hours or on high for 2 hours.
- After it gets cooked, garnish with crispy fried onions and serve
🤔 Can I make Crispy Fried Onions at home?
Yes of course! I do this all the time.
- First, chop the Onion into thin slices and separate them
- Toss the Onions with some flour and panko breadcrumbs.
- Transfer them to a parchment paper lined baking dish
- Drizzle some olive oil over them and roast @ 400F for about 20 min.
- OR, Just heat some Canola Oil in a deep dish skillet and as the oil shimmers, deep fry the Onions until they turn crispy and golden brown
- Transfer them to a parchment paper lined plate to soak out the excess moisture and then use them.
🤔 Can I make this Ahead of Time?
Why not! This is such an easy recipe that you can easily make this ahead of time.
Just add everything in the baking dish, cover with a foil and freeze until use.
Next, just pop it directly in the oven and bake for a few extra minutes.
Do Not need to thaw this before baking
🌱 How to make Vegan Green Bean Casserole?
If you're on a Vegan and Gluten Free diet, then fret not. You can easily tweak the classic recipe to make it Vegan Friendly.
- Cook the Green Beans by soaking them in boiling water for 5 minutes and then transfer them to an iced water bowl
- Meanwhile make the sauce. Heat Vegan butter in a skillet
- As the butter melts add the chopped Mushrooms, Onions and Garlic. Cook until fragrant
- Add AP Flour and cook until fragrant
- Season with salt and pepper. Pour Vegetable Broth and Almond Milk
- Whisk until the sauce thickens and gets smooth and lump free
- Transfer this to the baking dish. Top with the green beans and fried Onions
- Bake for 10 min and serve😍

You can freeze leftovers easily. Transfer to an airtight freezer friendly box and freeze this.
You just need to thaw it in the refrigerator overnight and reheat before serving

- Prefer using fresh Green Beans for its fresh flavors and color
- If you want you can replace Cream of Mushroom soup with Cream of Chicken
- Do not forget to add a bit of garlic powder and just a hint of red pepper flakes for added flavors

INGREDIENTS
- 1 lbs Green Beans edges trimmed and rinsed
- Kosher Salt
- Freshly cracked Black Pepper
- 2 cups Condensed Cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup Sour Cream
- 2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1½ teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
- 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
- 2 cup French's Fried Onions
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat the oven to 350 F or 180 C and grease a baking dish with oil or cooking spray
- Combine the Condensed Cream of mushroom soup with Sour Cream, Red Pepper Flakes, Garlic Powder, Dried Oregano, Salt and Pepper. Pour this mixture in the baking dish
- Top with the green beans and half cup of the French's Fried Onions. Top with some shredded sharp Cheddar Cheese and bake for 10-15 min or until the top gets golden brown and the cheese gets bubbly
- Garnish with the remaining French's Fried Onions and Serve
