Crockpot Chicken Thighs
The crockpot is seriously the best kitchen appliance I have. With every recipe I am making in this, I am falling in love with this appliance! Here's why you must own a Slow Cooker if you don't already!
Crockpot Chicken Thighs tastes especially good because the Chicken Thighs gets cooked to perfection and also remains juicy.
Chicken Thighs are the best piece in a Chicken. It's the juiciest piece in a Chicken.
So cooking it on the stove top generally dries it out easily. Hence, it's always a great idea to cook it in the Crockpot or Instant Pot.

👩🍳Instructions
STEP 1: Dump and Forget
- Grease the inside of a crock pot with olive oil
- Add diced Cream Cheese, grated Parmesan Cheese, Italian seasoning, Heavy Cream, Water, and a few garlic cloves into the pot.

- Combine everything using a spatula
- Add the Chicken Thigh pieces

- Season with salt and pepper
- Add some more freshly grated Parmesan cheese on top

- Cover with the lid and slow cook on high for 2 hours or on low for 4 hours.
- After it gets cooked, combine 2 tablespoon of Cornstarch with 3 tablespoon of water. Mix until combined and pour over the chicken. Toss to combine. Cover and let sit for 10 min so that it keeps warm and the cornstarch thickens the sauce meanwhile.
STEP 2: Garnish and Serve
- Garnish with chopped Parsley and serve immediately
- Or Cover and Keep warm until you serve.

🥗Serving Sides
This Crockpot Garlic Parmesan Chicken Thigh makes for a whole meal in itself. Here are some of my favorite serving sides for this dish.
You can serve this with Steamed Rice or Jasmine Rice or Fried Rice or my favorite Coconut Rice.
You can also serve this with Cauliflower Rice for a Low Carb meal.
Apart from this, you can serve this with any crusty bread and it's going to taste so good.
Don't forget to pair this with some refreshing Salads like this Asian Cucumber Salad or this Dill Cucumber Salad
📝Variations
- Garlic - For depth of flavors I have used both Garlic Powder as well as whole cloves of Garlic. This is what makes my sauce super garlicky and balances out the sweetness of heavy cream.
- Braised Chicken - You can alternatively, season the Chicken Thighs with salt, pepper and garlic powder and sear it in a skillet until golden brown on the outside. Searing the skin brown before adding them to the Crock Pot gives the Chicken a gorgeous color and crispy texture on the outside. After the Chicken is Golden Brown, dump it in the Crockpot and Slow Cook in the Garlic Parmesan Sauce.
- Oven baked - You can make this same recipe in the oven. Just dump everything in a 9x12 inch casserole baking dish and bake covered in a 200C or 400F preheated oven for 15-20 minutes.

Anjali says
Thank you so much! So glad you made it and your family loved it...!
Rachel Messier says
The flavor is amazing. Sadly after 5 hours in the crackpot, it didn't thicken at all. It was like white soup with chicken thighs. Still ate it though, served over rice.
Surup says
Hi Rachel! I'm really sorry you didn't enjoy the recipe. However if you think that its too soupy add a bit of cornstarch slurry to thicken the sauce next time.
Toby Williams says
Fantastic recipe! Super creamy and comforting 😍😍😍
Anjali says
Yes, this is so hearty and comforting!
Christie says
20 mins in a 400 degree oven didn't begin to finish this dish. Is that a typo?
Anjali says
No, its not a typo. It generally takes 15-20 minutes to cook Chicken breasts in the oven @400F. Ideally you should cook for 15 minutes and then check the internal temperature of the Chicken using a meat thermometer. If it reads 165°F (75°C), your Chicken is cooked. If not, cook for some more minutes.
Dee says
Can I add green beans to this in the crockpot?
Anjali says
Yes few green beans is a welcome addition to this creamy garlic parm chicken thighs. Hope you enjoy it.
Jessica says
I made this tonight and thought it was delicious. However, it turned out more like creamed chicken which my family is not a fan of. Like a deconstructed chicken casserole. But the flavor is outstanding. I loved it!

Hands Down! The Best Chicken Thigh recipes I've ever made! Also, the sauce is just excellent.
Rachael says
Absolutely love this recipe! Made this so many times already!!! Really good.
Cheri Di Dio says
Only a 3-star because I'm confused and haven't yet tried this recipe ... the ingredients say "heavy cream", which is like a heavy milk product in a pourable carton. But the video appears like you're using "sour cream." That would make sense to get that gorgeous thicker sauce. Is it heavy cream or sour cream? Thanks so much! This recipe looks SOOO tasty and can't wait to try!
Anjali says
Its heavy cream indeed. I know it might look thick, but it's just because I am using the refrigerated kind so was a little thick. You can use sour cream if you want. However it might make the sauce a little tarty! I would prefer to use heavy cream. The sauce will thicken on its own because of the Parmesan cheese and slow cooking!
Bonnie says
I don't know what I did wrong but the sauce was curdled and extremely thin. Very bland as well.
Anjali says
Hi, I am sorry that you didn't like this recipe. There can be a number of reason why your sauce curdled. It could be because of the quality of cream cheese or heavy cream. You can rectify a curdled sauce by adding some cornstarch slurry and slow cooking on low until combined.
Kristin L Ruscitti says
Mine just came out the same way, I followed the recipe exactly but the chicken is no good and the sauce smells amazing but tastes gross....not an edible recipe
Surup says
I am really sorry to disappoint you, Kristin. After reviewing and re-testing the recipe, I have made slight changes. Hopefully, you will like it this time.
