The Summers are finally and absolutely here! The days are getting longer and the nights are getting short. The hot and humid days are finally here.
Today evening, when I got up from my nap, I saw the sun shining so bright that it almost felt like it’s the middle of the day. Also, the crisp evening air felt warm and humid. I made myself a cup of tea and while I was enjoying my Tea, I had this strange craving out of nowhere to enjoy something spicy for a quick snack. I checked my fridge and found nothing. So, I hit the kitchen and my eyeshot with this jar full of Chickpeas. I thought, let’s give you a try today. So, I got it out and the next thing, I know is I’m adding spices from every corner of the kitchen into my bowl and mixing my Chickpeas real nice with the spices, the cornflour, and oil. 🙂
Finally, I thought, let’s bake this and I placed them in the oven and baked them for 30 minutes.
Honestly, I just couldn’t wait for 30 minutes, because, I was really hungry. So, in the middle of it, roughly after 17 minutes, I got the baking tray out, took some of the chickpeas out, and placed the rest for the remaining time of baking.
I loved every bite of these spicy Chickpeas. The next thought was, how many variations, I could give to this recipe 🙂

Here are the steps
In a mixing bowl a cupful of Chickpeas.
To it add some smoked Paprika, some Cumin, Salt, and Pepper.
Also, add some Lime Zest and Lime Juice.
Finally, add some Cornstarch and mix these well until completely coated.
Place your Chickpeas in a Parchment Paper lined Baking tray and bake for 30 minutes at 350 F or 180 C.
Once they are done, get them out and enjoy the sizzle and the aromatic smell of spices.
Get it out on a bowl and top with some chopped cilantro and serve.

Crispy Baked Chilli Lime Chickpeas
INGREDIENTS
- 1 Cup Chickpeas
- ½ teaspoon Smoked Paprika
- ½ teaspoon Cumin
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Black Pepper Powder
- ½ teaspoon Lime Juice
- ½ teaspoon Lime Zest
- 2 tablespoon Canola Oil
- 2 tablespoon Cornstarch
- ¼ Cup Chopped Cilantro
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat your oven to 350 F or 180 C and line a baking tray with Parchment Paper
- In a mixing bowl add the Chickpeas, followed by all the spices - Smoked Paprika, Cumin, Salt, Pepper, Lime Juice, Lime Zest, and Green Chillis.
- To it add some Canola or Vegetable oil and mix well
- Finally, add some Cornstarch and mix everything well until well combined
- Place them in the baking tray and bake at 350 F or 180 C for 30 minutes or until they turn crispy.
- Serve with some freshly chopped cilantro on top.
