    Ingredients

    • 12 oz White Baking Bar I use Ghirardelli's ( 3 packs of 4 chocolate), can replace with Vanilla Baking Chips or Vanilla Melting Wafers.
    • 1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk 14oz (400 gms)
    • ½ tsp Peppermint Oil or Peppermint Extract (optional)
    • 1 cup Candy Canes crushed

    See recipe card for quantities.

    Instructions

    STEP 1: MELT THE CHOCOLATE

    • Line a square baking dish with parchment paper
    • Add the White Chocolate baking bar and Sweetened Condensed Milk in a large bowl. Microwave at 30 seconds increment, whisking after each burst. Whisk until the chocolate melts and you get a smooth and lump-free mixture.

STEP 2: CHILL FOR 2 HOURS

    • Keep stirring constantly. White Chocolate coagulates really fast. So once you have creamy melted White Chocolate and Condensed milk mixture, just transfer this to the baking dish.
    • At this point you can stir in some Crushed Candy Canes for Crunchy Candy Cane Fudge.
    • Also, you can stir in some Peppermint Oil or Peppermint Extract for a deep Peppermint flavour in these fudge. However this is totally optional. Adding the crushed Candy Canes on top will get you perfect minty flavours.
    • Top with crushed candy canes and refrigerate for 2 hours.

    STEP 3: CUT AND SERVE

    • Get it out of the refrigerator.
    • Use any cookie cutter or a Christmas Tree shaped cookie cutter (like the one I have used) and cut the fudge. Carefully remove them using an offset spatula and place on the serving dish.
    • You will have leftovers if you're cutting in Christmas tree shape. So just bring them all together and place a sheet of parchment paper on top. Roll gently using a rolling pin to even the top and then cut the rest. This way, nothing will get wasted and you will be able to use up all of it.

Remember that White Chocolate sets really quickly. However, chilling the Fudge for at least and hour is essential. If you're in a rush you can even freeze for about 30 minutes. Remember to cover the baking dish with a foil and then freeze this.

Hint: Chilling the fudge once makes sure that they never lose shape even if they are kept all day along on the counter at room temperature. Its just the initial setting which makes White Chocolate set really quickly and perfectly.

    Variations

    • Dark Chocolate - You can use Dark Chocolate instead of White Chocolate.
    • Butter - Just for your ease of melting the Baking bar, use a stick of butter. It will help melt the chocolate easily.
    • Pink Food Color - If you want a festive look, use a drop of Pink food color in the Chocolate and Condensed Milk mixture.

How to store Fudge made with Condensed milk

    • Wrap the Fudge in an airtight container with several layers of plastic wrap. Wrapping them tightly will not let them lose the moisture. Store in a clean and dry air tight container.
    • You can store Fudge in the refrigerator for about 2 weeks. However, if you wish to store them for long time, you can freeze them. Did you know that you can actually store Fudge for upto a year and they will not lose out on their taste nor texture!!!!
    • Just thaw for a few hours on the counter before serving.

What can I use instead of Condensed Milk?

Just melt the baking bar or Vanilla Baking Chips with two sticks of butter in the microwave. It will melt easily and you can use this to make your Fudge without using Condensed Milk.

What is the secret to make Fudge?

    • Generally Fudge is made on the stovetop in a skillet, where chocolate is melted. However, this one is so easy and effortless. You donot have to do anything. Just melt Chocolate with Condensed Milk and your Fudge mixture is ready.
    • Do not forget to line the baking dish or whichever dish you are using to set the fudge with parchment paper. Or else getting the fudge out will be a task and they will lose shape in the process.
