INSTRUCTIONS
*If making Yeast Pizza Dough from scratch - Prepare your yeast dough and let it proof in a warm place until doubled in size.Punch down the dough and roll it out into a circle on a lightly floured surface to your desired thickness.
Transfer the rolled-out dough to a baking sheet or pizza pan. Use a fork to poke small holes across the surface so it does not puff up unevenly while baking.
Spread an even layer of pizza sauce over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges for the crust.
Place the pizza in an oven preheated to 220°C (425°F).Bake for 14 to 15 minutes until the crust is golden brown and crisp and the sauce is bubbling.
While the pizza bakes, slice the log of mozzarella cheese into thick pieces. Use a small ghost-shaped cookie cutter to cut out individual ghost shapes from the mozzarella.
Once the pizza is out of the oven, immediately place the cheese ghosts on top so they melt slightly from the residual heat.
Use tiny pieces of pitted black olives to create the eyes and mouths on each ghost, add fresh basil leaves between them, slice, and serve warm.
Notes
* If you're using Storebought Pizza Dough then skip step one and two.
* Dough Choice: You can easily save time by using store-bought pizza dough, or make your own favorite homemade yeast recipe.
Cheese Tips: Make sure your mozzarella log is cool and firm when cutting out the ghost shapes to get clean edges. Fresh ball mozzarella that is too wet may tear easily.
Make-Ahead Option: You can cut out the mozzarella ghosts ahead of time and keep them stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator until you are ready to assemble the freshly baked pizza.
