Jeera rice or Jeera Pulav is also known as Indian Cumin Fried Rice. One of the popular Indian main course dishes - Jeera rice or Jeera Pulao Recipe is so easy and so popular. It is known for its simplicity and the fragrance of roasted Jeera.
In a bowl soak rice in some water for 10-15 minutes. After 10-15 minutes, drain the water and spread it out on a paper towel. Allow it to dry out completely.
In a pan, melt ghee. Add Dalchini and Jeera. Allow the jeera to crackle on low heat for 2-minutes.
Add soaked and dried rice to the pot. Fry on medium heat for 2-3 minutes. Do not toss much as it might break the rice.
Add salt as per taste and mix it in. Pour water and stir lightly. Cover cook for 5-7 minutes on low heat. If using a pressure cooker then cook on high heat just until it is about to whistle. Allow the steam to release on its own. If using an Instant Pot then cook on low heat until the rice gets done and the water is completely absorbed.
Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve right away.

Do not oversoak rice for too long. Soak for 10-minutes and then drain the water.
Do not add too many spices while making jeera rice. Jeera rice recipe is supposed to be simple and easy.
