I love Banana Bread. My Classic Banana Bread or Chocolate Banana Bread is so good that people rave reviews about it all the time. However, for all the Banana Bread lovers out there, today's recipe will definitely be a boon for you. The same Banana Bread but with a touch of heath and nutrition.
And trust me, it tastes just the same, in fact...honestly even delicious!

Ingredients you will need
So, to make this Healthy Banana Bread with Walnuts and Flaxseeds, you would need:

- Bananas - I have used Ripe Bananas. They are full of flavors
- Granulated Sugar - I have used just 1/4 cup of Granulated sugar. Bananas are themselves too sweet.
- Butter - Butter adds moisture and softness to this Bread
- Yogurt - Yogurt makes this bread moist and fluffy
- Cider Vinegar - A hint of Cider Vinegar, helps raise the bread to perfection
- Flaxseed - I have used both meal Flaxseed and Whole Flax. These are so healthy and filled with Omega 3
- Walnuts - Walnuts is one of the super nuts of the day. Super healthy and nutritious.
- Ground Cinnamon - Ground Cinnamon adds the perfect spice to this Banana Bread.
- Besides this, I have used AP Flour, Baking Powder, and Baking Soda for this recipe.

To make a Keto - Low Carb and Gluten-Free version of this Banana Bread, you can do the following replacements:
- Replace AP Flour with Coconut Flour
- Butter with Coconut Oil
- Yogurt with Soy Milk
- Granulated Sugar with Erythritol

Making this Healthy Banana Walnut Bread with Flax
Making this Banana Walnut Bread involves 3 steps:

- The First step is to cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Next, add the Banana, Yogurt, and Cider Vinegar and mix well
- The second step is to add the Flour, Flaxmeal, Flaxseeds, Chopped Walnuts, Baking Powder, Baking Soda, and Ground Cinnamon. Combine everything until mixed and pour it in your bread pan. Top the Bread with some chopped bananas and walnuts.
- The third and final step is to bake the banana bread for 55 minutes at 350F preheated oven.
- Once done, cool it down to room temperature and cut into equal-sized loaves.

Healthy Banana Walnut Bread with Flax
INGREDIENTS
Wet Ingredients
- 2 ripe Bananas
- ¼ cup Granulated Sugar
- ¼ cup Melted Butter
- ½ teaspoon Yogurt
- ½ teaspoon Cider Vinegar
Dry Ingredients
- 1¼ cup AP Flour
- ½ teaspoon Baking Soda
- ½ teaspoon Baking Powder
- ½ teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
- ½ cup Flaxmeal
- 2 tablespoon Flaxseeds
- ¼ cup chopped Walnuts more for decoration on top
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat the oven to 350F or 180C and grease a Baking dish with cooking spray and line with parchment paper.
- Take the Melted Butter and Granulated Sugar in a mixing bowl. Use a handheld whisk or stand mixer to beat these two until it gets smooth, creamy, and fluffy. The sugar should mix with the butter completely.
- Now add the Yogurt, Cider Vinegar, and the Bananas into the Same bowl and mix it until it gets well combined.
- Add the Flour, Baking Powder, Baking Soda, Flaxmeal, Flaxseeds and Chopped Walnuts and use a rubber or silicone spatula to mix it well. Do not overbeat. Mix just until combined.It should be a thick batter.
- Pour this Batter in the lined baking dish. Use a cookie scoop to scoop out the batter and pour it in your baking dish. Even out the top layer with the back of your spatulaDecorate the top with Banana slices and chopped walnuts. Slightly press in the Bananas and pop it in the oven to get baked for 55 minutes.
- Once it's done, take it out of the oven and cool it down on a wire rack so that it cools throughout. Cut it into equal-sized loaves and enjoy!

I have tried many banana bread recipes but this is my favorite! Always comes out perfect, I sometimes switch the flax meal with hazelnut meal and use hazelnuts instead of walnuts for a different flavor. Then add chocolate chips when I want some extra sweetness. Love this recipe!
