Finally, the Halloween Season is looking at us with excitement. So, what could be a better way to get ready for Halloween than making some cute Halloween Desserts such as this Graveyard Cupcake or this Spider cupcake, or making some delicious Halloween Appetizer such as this Spider Pizza Bites or this Mummy Pizza Bites!

Mummy Pizza Bites

I have always wanted to make Halloween recipes that are gonna freak people out. But, my years of cooking for Halloween has told me one thing. And, that is - Halloween = Creativity.

Isn't it guys? Think about it! Are we ever this creative? Yeah, the Christmas season is different. It is a time when everything is cute and colorful. But, for Halloween, if not for creativity it is absolutely nothing. right?

Mummy Pizza Bites

I know how our creativity can make us walk unchartered territories and make us do something that we have never done before. One such thing which I did today was - made these mummy pizza bites.
I was craving to make some Halloween recipe and this is where my creativity took me. Let me tell you that though the journey was sorta scary, the destination was lip-smacking.

How to Make Mummy Pizza Bites?

Mummy Pizza Bites

To make the Mummy Pizza Bites you need to grab some bread slices. I have used plain white bread. You can use Multigrain or whole-grain or even brown bread.

Cut them in any shape you want. I have cut them out in the form of a circle because you know how I relate everything circular to sorta scary! Anyhoo, you can cut out rectangles, squares, diamonds any shape you want.

Next, grab some Pizza Sauce from the fridge.

Not got one at home. No worries. Let's make some right away. Refer to this article and learn how to make Homemade Pizza Sauce in just 5-minutes.

Next, slather the pizza sauce on your bread slices.

I have used Mozzarella string cheese since they are easy to work with and tastes delicious. You can use any sort of cheese you want. Monterey Jack, Colby Jack, all are good. Cut them into thin strips. You know like the bandage.

The strips should be neither too wide nor too thin.

Arrange them in the form of a bandage. It's pretty easy. Look at some of my photos closely and you would be able to do that in minutes.

Lastly, when everything is done, fix two sliced olives, that will work as the scary Mummy eyes. It's that simple.

  • Pull apart String Cheese and wrap the bread slices as shown in the images on the blog post. They should look like mummies.
  • Take sliced black olives and make the eyes for your mummies. You can also make a nose or mouth if you want.
