How to make it Vegan?
If you wish to make it vegan, you can replace butter with Vegan Butter or just skip it out and use just Olive Oil instead. Also, you will have to skip on the Parmesan Cheese. Trust me, this will taste the same, equally delicious!

How to make Garlic Butter Sauteed Green Beans?
Saute the Green Beans
First of all, Wash and Rinse the Green beans. Now chop off both the ends of the Green Beans and then use it. Melt Butter with some Olive oil in a Saute Pan. Add the Green Beans and saute for 2-3 minutes over a medium-low flame. Stir well so that the butter coats the Green Beans well.
Add the Garlic
Now, add the minced garlic and saute until the raw smell of Garlic goes away and it turns fragrant. (for 1-2 minutes over a medium-low flame)
Add the Lemon Zest
Finally, add the Lemon zest, toss everything well to combine, and take it off the heat.
Garnish and Serve
Top with Grated Parmesan Cheese, Salt, Freshly cracked Black Pepper and Lemon Juice. Mix well and serve!
About Blanching the Green Beans
For this recipe, I have used Raw green Beans and have sauteed it. I haven't blanched the Green beans. This is because Blanching the green beans takes away its bright green color. If you wish to blanch it, then after immersing the green beans in hot water, quickly transfer it to a bowl of ice-cold water. This will retain the color of these green beans.
However, just sauteeing these Green Beans will keep them crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Just what we love about our Thanksgiving Green Beans.
In my home, we love the fresh greens with our meat. So, I always sautee my Green Beans and use it as my side. However, if you want your Green Beans soft and mushy, then you can blanch the Green Beans and then sautee it over butter and olive oil.
Can I Saute these Green Beans Ahead of time?
Yes, of course. You can make this ahead of time, however, I would not recommend you to do so. These taste the best when they are freshly served straight out from the saute pan.
So, to prep this ahead of time, you can throw the green beans in a pot of boiling water. Add some salt to it and boil for 1-2 minutes over medium-high flame. Then quickly transfer it to a bowl of ice-cold water.
This will stop the Green Beans from getting overcooked.
Now, after 1-2 minutes, get them off and pat dry them with a kitchen towel. Wrap it up in a plastic wrap or foil along with the chopped garlic and lemon zest.
Before you serve it, just heat butter and olive oil in the pan, throw in the green beans with Garlic and Lemon Zest. Saute until it gets combined with the butter and cook over low flame for 3-4 minutes and then take it off the heat, garnish with salt, black pepper, parmesan, and lemon juice and enjoy!

Yes, there are many other Alternatives possible to this recipe.
You can add everything in a sheet pan and roast it in your oven. It'll be your very own Roasted Green Beans with Garlic and Parmesan. Preheat the oven to 350F and bake these beans for 10 minutes. Toss in between.
You can add additional herbs like Rosemary or Thyme for added flavors and taste.
You can also add thinly sliced Onions along with the Garic to make Sauteed Green Beans with Onion and Garlic.
