Easy Lo Mein Noodles

Lo Mein Noodles are sweet and spicy noodles made with homemade Lo mein sauce and proteins of your choice. This is an easy noodles recipe that tastes better than take out Lo Mein. Did you try Lo-Mein Noodles Stuffed Bell Peppers

Lo Mein

Lo Mein is a popular Asian noodle that we love. I know you've probably ordered it a million times before. Just like these Schezwan Noodles Recipe or this Instant Pot Sesame Noodles (10-minutes)  or Black Pepper Noodles

It's one of that takeout food that surely is a mood uplifter. In general, I am a huge lover of Chinese take-outs and this is one of my favorites go-to recipes whenever I am too tired or just bored at home after a busy day. Of course there are other favorites like Shrimp Pad Thai which is simply the best.

It's simple, sweet and so yummy! If you have never tried Lo Mein, then don't worry. Try it today and trust me you'll love it.

Today let me help you make these awesome Asian flavored noodles. After this, you'll want to make Loe Mein always at home and never order again. This can be made with Lo Mein noodles or just your usual Ramen noodles.

Today I'll teach you how to make the basic Lo Mein Noodles.

To this, you can add the proteins of your choice. I made my Lo Mein with just a few veggies at hand.

However, you are free to use Veggies and Meat of your choice.

Beef Lo Mein is one of my favorite recipes. It's just this same recipe but with Beef marinated in Lo Mein sauce.

The trick is if you can make Lo Mein with veggies you can add any Meat or Sea-Food of your choice whenever you wish to.

What are Lo Mein Noodles?

Lo Mein Noodles are typically wheat flour Egg noodles. You can find them in stores easily.

However, Lo Mein can be made with ramen or any kind of noodles you get. It really won't make much of a difference. You can even use Pasta or Spaghetti and no one has to know about it.

You can make Lo Mein with veggies of your choice.

From Carrots to Sweet Corns to Mushrooms to Bell Peppers to Cabbage and even Spinach. If you want to add Meat then add Pork, Beef, Chicken or even Shrimp.

Lo Mein sauce is one of the easiest sauces you can make at home. It just needs some good quality dark soy sauce and some light soy sauce. Dark soy sauce is easily found in stores. Also, light soy sauce will read just Soy sauce. It doesn't add the color to your noodles but flavors it incredibly well.

Lo Mein sauce is typically made with Shaoxing wine. If you do not find this cooking wine, in place of this, you can use Mirin. This gives the sweetness to Lo Mein. I also used sugar along with some black pepper and it came out just as perfect as the take out Lo Mein.

Typically white Pepper is used for Lo Mein. Honestly, it's hard to find these ingredients and I know you would not want to head out to get that one ingredient. So, just use black pepper powder guys. Trust me! It'll taste just awesome.

Sesame Oil is one of the most important ingredients in Lo Mein. You can easily find Sesame Oil in stores. It gives that perfect nutty flavor to your noodles.

Making Lo Mein is so easy. You just have to fry your veggies, add the boiled noodles and add the sauce. And in a snap, your noodles will be ready.

If you are having trouble mixing your noodles with the sauce, I recommend using the back of your spatula and use tow of those. This will help you mix your noodles very well.

If you are using beef or Chicken, then first cook your meat in the Pan. Fry it well. Now smear them in the Lo Mein sauce and add to the noodles.

An important tip would be to keep your veggies crunchy in the Lo Mein. Do not overcook your veggies. Keep the flame on high and just stir fry them. If you keep all your veggies chopped in advance and add them all together, this will ensure that your Lo Mein veggies are cooked equally and are crispy on the outside.

Make way for some Easy Lo Mein Noodles  🙂
