Talking of desserts, Have you tried my favorite Apple Pecan Cobbler or my Apple Pecan Cupcakes or my Pumpkin Spice Cupcakes with Cream Cheese frosting? These are just the perfect desserts besides the good old fashioned Pumpkin Pie or Apple Pie or Sweet Potato Pie, which I like to serve for Thanksgiving every year.
Also, let's not forget our good old chocolaty friend - Brownies. Speaking of Brownies have you tried my Cherry Chocolate Cheesecake Brownies or my Crinkle Top Banana Brownies or White Chocolate Orange Cranberry Brownies or Fudgy Walnut Brownies or Nutella Brownies or Mint Chocolate Cheesecake Swirled Brownies?
Today I'll teach y'all one of my favorite Brownies of all time. Pecan Pie Brownies combines my two loves in one dish. A good old Pecan Pie along with dark Chocolate Brownie is just so delicious!
Pecan Pie Brownies
This Pecan Pie Brownie has a moist dark chocolate brownie layer at the base which is topped with Pecan Pie filling on top. Unlike a traditional Pecan Pie, which takes hours to get prepared, this one is all about just using the same ingredients and making something that tastes similar and gets prepared very quickly.
How to make Super Fudgy Pecan Pie Brownies?
I have used Semi-Sweet Dark Chocolate Chips which I have melted with Butter and then, I have whisked it with Eggs, Granulated Sugar, Salt, and Vanilla. After that, I have sieved in the Flour and Cocoa in the liquid batter and combined everything to make my Brownie Batter, and baked it for about 20 min.
You could always skip these ingredients and get a store-bought Brownie Mix, to make your Brownie batter and use it to bake the Lower Brownie layer. I do it all the time, especially, around the holidays when there's so much to do and so little time!
Now, the trick to get fudgy Brownies is to use more of Fat and less of the Flour. More Fat translates to more of Eggs and Butter and less of Flour. Fudgy Brownies are so delicious and exactly what I love.
Making the Pecan Pie Filling
- The next step is to make the Pecan Pie filling. For that, all I do is combine Chopped Pecan with Eggs, Vanilla Extract, Packaged Light Brown Sugar, and 1/2 stick of Unsalted Butter. I pop this in the oven for just 1 minute and then stir until combined! You can always do this on the stove and however, I find that to microwave and melt the sugar is actually quite time-saving. Also, you can add some light corn syrup in the mix and combine it with all the other ingredients for that perfect Praline taste.
- And after the Brownies are partially baked, all I do is just pour the Pecan Pie filling over the Brownies and let them bake for 20 min or 25 min at 350F.
- After the Brownies are baked, the top shall be a little moist and jiggly. This is perfectly fine. Just get it out of the oven and cool it down untouched at room temperature for about 25-30 minutes.
- Once the brownies have cooled down completely, take them out of the dish. Remove the Parchment Paper, and cut the Brownies using a serrated Plastic knife.
- If the Brownies are warm, you will have misshaped and sloppy brownies. So, cooling down the brownies is essential for perfect square brownies. 🙂
Easy right? And I bet they are delicious too!
How should I know that the Brownies are done?
After you've baked the Brownies, the center should not be jiggly, when you shake the Pan and the sides should be visibly baked and have developed slight cracks.
How to Make Gluten-Free Pecan Pie Brownies?
To make these cute brownies gluten-free and grain-free you can use blanched fine Almond flour instead of regular All-Purpose flour. The ratio is 1:1. And, that's it. Everything else remains the same.
