Easy Halloween Cupcakes with Buttercream Frosting (12 ways)
Learn how to make these 12 Halloween Cupcake designs with vanilla cupcakes and vanilla buttercream frosting tinted with various shades. Its so easy, spooky and perfect for Halloween.
Preheat the oven to 350F or 180C and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners
Cream butter and sugar until creamy. Add AP Flour, Eggs, Vanilla Extract, Baking Powder, and milk. Fold until combined. Do not overmix the batter.
Transfer to the lined muffin tin and bake for 15-18 minutes or until the centers are springy upon touch
Allow them to cool down completely before you add the frosting
Vanilla Buttercream Frosting
In a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, cream butter and sugar together. Add the confectioner's sugar in two batches. Once combined, add the milk and vanilla extract and beat for 2 minutes.
Divide the buttercream frosting into seven portions in different bowls. Add Green, Orange, Brown, Purple, Pink, and red food colors to six bowls. Keep one bowl uncolored with the plain, simple buttercream frosting.

Use the large petal tip Wilton #125 with orange-tinted buttercream frosting first to make the orange pumpkin design. Start from the edges in a vertical line and finish at the tip.

Success Tips
Use gel food color for the perfect colors. Only add a drop of gel food color and a little. The color will darken over time.
Allow the cupcakes to sit at room temp for a few hours before you serve them
You can cover and store leftovers in the refrigerator for upto 5 days
