This Green Bean Ranch Potato Casserole is one of the easiest most comforting Thanksgiving Side Dish recipes. It's cheesy and super flavorful. A perfect crowd pleaser that gets ready in just 40-minutes.
Preheat oven to 350°F or 180°C and grease a 9X9 Baking Dish with Cooking Spray.
Bring a Pot of water to boil. Throw in the diced potatoes and green Beans. After it boils for 2-3 minutes, take it out and place them in a pot of ice-cold water.
Heat 1 tablespoon butter in a skillet. Once the butter melts, add chopped onions and garlic powder. Brown the Onions and keep it aside.
In the Same Pan, add 1 more tablespoon of butter. As the butter melts, add 1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour. Keep stirring until it gets lightly toasted and it gets aromatic.Add half-and-half and stir along with ranch dressing and stir until it gets smooth and creamy.Add green beans, potatoes, and Half of the Caramelized onions. Season with Salt and pepper and take it out in a greased baking dish.
Add shredded sharp yellow cheddar cheese on top. Then follow it up with the remaining caramelized onions.Pop it in the oven and bake for about 20-minutes or until the cheese gets bubbly.
Serve this Casserole and enjoy it.
