Mini Condensed Milk Apple Tarts are just the perfect desserts for Fall evenings as well as Thanksgiving! This is made with a homemade Pastry dough, which is topped with some condensed milk and a delicious cinnamony Apple Tart filling.
Grab the ingredients for pastry dough and mix well in a food processor or with the help of a pastry blender. Add little ice-cold water and make a soft dough. Remember that you should not over-knead the dough as the heat produced will melt the butter. So the idea is to just bring everything together. Freeze the dough (covered in a plastic wrap or aluminum foil) for 30-45 minutes or refrigerate overnight.
Making Apple Pie Filling
Take two large apples and cut them in half. Now scoop out the center with the help of a melon scooper and cut them into thin lengthwise slices.
In a bowl containing your apple slices, add brown sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg. Mix everything well. Your apple pie filling is ready.
Making Mini Condensed Milk Apple Tarts
Preheat your oven to 400°F or 200°C. Keep a 9X11 inch baking tray ready.
First flour your surface generously. Take out your pastry dough from the refrigerator and dust some more flour on that. Now gently roll it out with the help of a rolling pin.Cut it in six rectangles using a knife or pizza cutter.
Spoon some condensed milk right at the center. Leave some gap on the sides. Arrange the apple slices over condensed milk (horizontally one overlapping the other). Fold the edges from the sides over the apple. Crimp lightly using a knife. Brush the sides with milk and sprinkle some coarse sugar. Pop them in the freezer for 15-minutes.
Take them out of the freezer and put them to bake in a preheated oven for 30-minutes or until the sides are lightly brown.
Once they come out of the oven, transfer them to a cooling rack. Drizzle heavy whipping cream and caramel sauce on them. Enjoy
